 INTERNATIONAL READING ROAD

The International Reading Road is an on-going collaborative literacy project between the Library Information Centre and the English classroom.

Instructions for students:

Step 1

  • Your task is to select three works from the list below. Each work must be from a different region of the world.

Step 2

  • After reading, formulate a unifying theme that encompasses all three works, then use this theme to write a persuasive essay with extensive examples from all three works.

Step 3

  • Create and post an insightful, penetrating and original question or statement for each title.

Step 4

  • Select one (1) of your classmates' questions and respond to it, in one paragraph of thoughtful writing (at least 250 words).

The works listed below represent the writings of international renowed authors from six continents. They were either born, raised or educated in a specific nation state, or their novel is set in that particular region of the world, or the novel is about the region itself.
